5 March 2013 Te Anau to Queenstown.

Woke up this morning in Te Anau to a brilliant cloudless sunny day.

We left for Queenstown at 9.00am to make the most of the day as it looks like tomorrow the rains are coming in. Below are our last photos of Lake Te Anau

The drive between Te Anau and  Kingston was  over lovely countryside, nice farmlands surrounded by mountains. Photos below.

We saw the Kington Flyer in action on our way into Queenstown.

The drive from Kingston along the side of Lake Wakatipu is one of the best, just beautiful on a day like this. Below

We arrived at our Motel Alexis Queenstown at 1.00pm and they let us check in early as our room 11 had just been cleaned. Good timing. Nice room looking right over the lake and over to the Remarkable Mountains. Full kitchen facilities. We always like cooking as by the time we have been on the road most of the day its nice just to stay in and relax

Outside our motel our room right at the end on ground floor over looking the lake.

View from our room/balcony looking other way towards the Remarkables. And down the Frankton Arms.

After settling in to our room, had a coffee and straight out to do the town. First went straight up to the Skyline Gondola to enjoy the views.

We then took off to walk around town along to the beach to the gardens, although didn't walk through as time was running out. Will do that later tomorrow.

Ended up at the supermarket to stock up and back to motel for a drink to enjoy our view.

The last two days have been very warm without the humidity, nice.
